The City Council of Seville has presented the project for the future headquarters of the Local Police in the Macarena district, a building of 580 square metres constructed over two floors on a plot of 1,513 square metres next to the civic centre Hogar San Fernando.
The Delegation of Citizen Security of Seville has hosted the presentation of the project for the new Local Police headquarters in the Macarena district. The chosen plot belongs to the civic centre Hogar San Fernando and has 1,513 square metres, on which a building of 580 square metres constructed will be erected, distributed over two floors of 290 square metres each.
The delegate for Municipal Buildings, Blanca Gastalver, explained that the building will be organised into three distinct areas: public service spaces, administrative offices, and internal areas for the use and hygiene of the officers. The project includes a parking area of about 875 square metres with capacity for 23 vehicles.
"We want headquarters that are recognisable, that have a defined identity and that convey to the citizen a Local Police that is close and accessible, but also modern, professional, and prepared," pointed out Gastalver.
The building has been designed with criteria for energy efficiency, thermal insulation, and fire protection, with a fire resistance of the structure of type R-90. According to the delegate, the aim is to move towards a new model of police facilities that can be replicated in other parts of the city.
The location at Hogar San Fernando also allows for land to be reserved for future expansions if the service needs increase. For the neighbourhood, the opening of this headquarters will mean having a closer police service point and facilities designed for daily operations.
The City Council of Seville has not yet specified execution timelines or the budget for the works. The presentation has been limited to outlining the technical characteristics and the layout of the future building.
