The Plenary of the Seville City Council approves budget modifications amounting to €9.5 million. Almost five million will go to paving, accessibility, and green areas in various neighbourhoods; the rest will support Tussam, Lipasam, taxis, and a social dentistry programme.
The Plenary of the Seville City Council has approved an injection of €9.5 million through several budget modifications. The aim is to continue the renewal of infrastructure in the neighbourhoods and improve public services such as Tussam and Lipasam, as well as to announce new aid for taxis.
The main block, allocated €4,998,048.93, is designated for public road interventions: paving, improving accessibility, and creating new green areas. Specific actions include the improvement of the pavement on Avenida de Andalucía, in the stretch between Parque Amate street and SE-30, with €556,784.20.
Additionally, Plaza del Bajondillo in the Old Town will be redeveloped and landscaped, featuring a new children's area, for €346,784.63; work will be done at Parque del Turruñuelo Marifé de Triana with €879,479.56; and the restructured project for the awning and repairs of the Puente de Los Remedios will be executed for €475,000.
The rehabilitation of the housing building for engineers from the former Fábrica de Tabacos Altadis will receive €1,700,000, while the Casa del Guarda of that same complex will get €350,000. In the Old Town, Plaza de los Curtidores will be redeveloped and accessibility improved with €400,000, and €290,000 will be invested to enhance accessibility in school routes around CEIP Cristóbal Colón.
The second major block, amounting to €3,876,000, provides liquidity to public companies. Of this amount, €2.7 million is transferred to Tussam to ensure the discount on transport vouchers, adhering to state decree 17/2025 and adding an additional voluntary improvement of 20% with the City Council's own funds.
Lipasam receives €1,176,000 as a compensatory allocation to cope with rising fuel costs without compromising its operational capacity on the streets. Additionally, the taxi sector receives €600,000 to unlock a new grant call aimed at modernising and improving the service.
Finally, the modifications include €29,990 for the "Volver a reír" programme, a municipal social dentistry initiative aimed at integrating people with addictions in situations of extreme exclusion. With these allocations, the City Council seeks to ensure that residents notice direct improvements in streets, transport, and cleanliness over the next year.
