Seville City Council has allocated €141,000 to repair pavements and sidewalks in the La Carrasca neighbourhood, in the Macarena District. Mayor José Luis Sanz has supervised the works alongside local residents.

The Urban Planning Management of Seville has completed improvement works in the La Carrasca neighbourhood, in the Macarena District. The municipal investment amounts to €141,000 and has focused on paving and sidewalks.

Seville's mayor, José Luis Sanz, visited the area accompanied by residents to check the results. He explained that these actions respond to community demands and aim to improve accessibility and pedestrian safety.

"We continue to work in all neighbourhoods of Seville to enhance accessibility, safety, and comfort for our residents. In La Carrasca, we have carried out a series of necessary interventions that represent a significant improvement of the pavement and sidewalks," Sanz stated.

The works have been divided into three main actions. Doctor Antonio Herrera Carmona street has received €65,000; Abogado Rafael Medina street, €54,000; and several surrounding streets such as Niña de la Alfalfa and Marqués de Lozoya have accumulated €22,000 in repair and improvement works.

The Macarena District has other recent interventions. The comprehensive redevelopment of Artesanos Peluqueros street, with an investment of €461,000, began on June 29 and has a six-month execution period. It includes the renewal of sewage, supply, and lighting networks, as well as wider sidewalks.

Works have also been carried out on Constantina street, which started on September 10 to repair the parking area between Pino Montano avenue and El Real de la Jara street, with €14,500. In Llanes avenue, more than twenty new parking spaces are being created in two sections of 42 and 44 metres, plus a third section, with €45,000.

For the summer improvement actions, the City Council has allocated €2.2 million. In the coming weeks, six resurfacing operations will be carried out on Santa María del Rocío, Santa María Magdalena, Santa María de la Hiedra, Santa María de los Reyes, Santa María de Ordás, Fray Luis de Granada, and Amalia Torrijos streets, with a total cost of €257,000.

In the past year, works in the Macarena District have totalled around €1 million. Among them, the resurfacing of Pino Montano avenue, nearly 700 metres and over €140,000, and the redevelopment of Blanca Paloma square, the paving of Camino de Cantalobos, and improvements in streets such as Madreselva, Fedra, Estanislao del Campo López, Gáspar de Alvear, Bermúdez Plata, and Martínez Sierra, among others, stand out.

The residents of La Carrasca and the rest of the Macarena District will notice a direct improvement in the accessibility of their streets and the comfort of walking. The works in the neighbourhood are already completed, while those on Artesanos Peluqueros will continue until the end of the year.
