Seville City Council has approved the call for grants for social dining rooms for 2027, with a budget of 725,000 euros, a 16% increase from the previous year. Each entity may receive up to 175,000 euros.
Seville City Council has green-lighted the call for grants for social dining rooms for 2027, endowed with 725,000 euros. This amount represents a 16% increase compared to the 626,329 euros from the previous year, when the initial allocation was already tripled.
The delegate for Social Rights, José Luis García, explained that the measure aims to strengthen food assistance for individuals and families at risk of social exclusion in the capital of Seville. "With this call, we continue to support those who need it most, ensuring that no Seville family is left without a response to such a basic need as food," he stated.
The grants, which will be awarded on a competitive basis, are aimed at non-profit private entities that develop social action projects in the city. Each organization may apply for a maximum of 175,000 euros, 25,000 euros more than in the previous call.
The application submission period will start on July 28 and will extend until August 11, 2026. Applications must be submitted exclusively electronically, using the standard application forms (Annex I) and project forms (Annex II), available on the municipal Electronic Headquarters. The documentation must be sent to the RIES 02300 Registry, in accordance with Law 39/2015.
García emphasized the role of the associative fabric in Seville in detecting needs in various neighborhoods: "Behind every social dining room are entities that work every day to ensure these individuals have a more dignified life, and we want to be their ally from the municipal government." The call is part of the municipal objective to build "a fairer and more supportive Seville, where no one is left behind," the councillor concluded.
The regulatory bases and all information regarding the call can be consulted on the City Council's website, on the Electronic Bulletin Board and in the National Grants Database. The grants will be governed by the General Grant Ordinance of the City Council and by the specific bases of the call.
The budget increase responds to the growing demand for food assistance in the city, exacerbated by the context of inflation and the economic difficulties affecting the most vulnerable groups. In 2025, the City Council tripled the initial allocation to 626,329 euros, and now it raises it again for 2027.
Interested entities must submit their projects within the established deadline, complying with the requirements of the call. The resolution of the grants will be made after evaluating the applications, in accordance with the criteria of competitive bidding.
