Sevilla FC has claimed victory in the fourth edition of the Trofeo Puertas de Córdoba by defeating Córdoba CF 1-0, in a match held this Thursday at El Arcángel.
Sevilla FC has secured its first win of the pre-season by beating Córdoba CF (1-0) in the fourth edition of the Trofeo Puertas de Córdoba, played this Thursday at the El Arcángel stadium. The Seville team, which took to the field with a strong starting eleven, resolved the match in the first half thanks to a penalty goal.
The match, which kicked off at 21:00, served as the second pre-season test for both teams. Sevilla FC, managed by García Pimienta, fielded a competitive eleven from the start, while Córdoba, coached by Iván Ania, was looking for its first win of the summer following its pre-season debut.
The game started with an intense rhythm, although clear chances took time to arrive. Córdoba CF appeared serious and well-structured on the pitch, not giving Sevilla FC any space. However, in the 48th minute, a handball by Nico Guillén inside the area was penalised by the referee. Christian Carracedo was tasked with taking the penalty, but his shot was saved by Alberto Flores, the Sevilla FC goalkeeper, who guessed the intention of the Córdoba forward.

In the 57th minute, Córdoba CF had the clearest opportunity of the second half. A one-on-one between Isaac and the Sevilla goalkeeper Guillherme ended with a decisive intervention from the keeper, who cleared the ball with his foot. The white-and-green team continued to press, but without success in front of goal.
The match ended with a 1-0 victory for Sevilla FC, who takes home the trophy in their first participation in this tournament. For Córdoba CF, the defeat represents a small setback in their preparation, although the team showed good signs in many phases of the match.
