The Seville club was asking for ten million fixed plus variables, while the group's offer was eight million.
According to club sources, Oso himself was practically packed to leave the Andalusian capital, but the financial disagreement has stalled the operation. The player, born in Torrevieja, will continue under the orders of Luis García Plaza, at least until a new offer emerges that satisfies both parties.
A two million difference that derails the agreement
In recent days, contacts between Sevilla FC and the Marinakis Group intensified with the aim of finalising the transfer of the Hispanic-Argentine. However, the firm stance of the owners of the English and Greek clubs has prevented the operation from reaching a successful conclusion. Sevilla FC valued Oso at ten million euros fixed plus variables, while the counteroffer was set at eight million.
Sources close to the negotiation indicate that the difference was not insurmountable, but the Marinakis Group has decided not to increase their offer. The Nervión club does not rule out resuming talks if the offer improves or if another team's proposal arrives, such as Fiorentina, which has also shown interest in the player.
Julio Díaz, confirmed signing despite the halt in Oso's exit
Despite the sale of Oso falling through, Sevilla FC is moving forward with the signing of Julio Díaz, a youth player from Atlético de Madrid. The young left-back, who was initially set to sign with Levante UD, has been convinced by the Seville management to join Nervión. His arrival was one of the key pieces to cover Oso's potential departure.
Now, with the continuity of the Hispanic-Argentine, coach Luis García Plaza has up to four options for the left-back position: Suazo, Pedrosa, Oso himself, and the newly arrived Julio Díaz. The club intends to let Pedrosa go, while Suazo, barring surprises, will remain in the squad. Oso, who can also play further forward, becomes one of the most valued assets in the market.
