Sevilla FC has set the wheels in motion for Oso's departure, the left-back who has refused to renew his contract. The Nervión club has valued the player at over 10 million euros and expects to receive offers that match that amount, according to internal sources of the entity.
The player was not called up for the friendly that Sevilla played this Sunday against Ceuta, a match that started at 21:00 hours. The club justified his absence through social media with a medical report: "Oso will not be part of the match due to a contusion in the quadriceps of his right leg." However, rumours about his future have only intensified.
Offers on the table
In Spain, Real Sociedad is one of the teams that has shown interest in the left-back, although it has not formalised a concrete offer. The Donostia team hopes that the player's price will drop as the transfer market progresses. There are also proposals from abroad, such as from Fiorentina, but none have been tempting enough for Sevilla.
The situation is delicate for the left side of the Sevilla team. Currently, Gabriel Suazo is the starter, but if Oso leaves, there would be few options left. Adrià Pedrosa returned after his loan to Elche, where the Ilicitan club did not execute the purchase option. Sevilla's intention is to look for a new left-back if Oso's departure materialises, but the fans fear that Suazo and Pedrosa will ultimately occupy the position.
