The tenth edition of the Nocturnal Regatta of Triana, framed within the Velá de Santa Ana, saw victories shared among five Seville clubs. Nearly a hundred athletes competed in 26 boats along Calle Betis.
On Wednesday night, the Guadalquivir River was illuminated for the tenth edition of the Nocturnal Regatta of Triana, a sporting event that has become a tradition within the Velá de Santa Ana. Nearly a hundred rowers, distributed across 26 boats from five clubs in Seville, gathered at a 150-meter racing course situated between the Triana and San Telmo bridges.
The competition was held in the yola four-person category, with absolute and veteran categories for both men and women. The audience, which packed the stands near the water, was able to follow the direct duels in 13 heats, enhanced by the LED lighting on the boats that coloured the night.
The festive and family-friendly atmosphere was one of the major attractions of the evening, which combined sport and leisure in the heart of Triana. The event was organised by the Andalusian Rowing Federation, with the collaboration of the Municipal Council of the Triana District and the Municipal Sports Institute of the City of Seville.
Results by Categories
In the mixed veteran category, the Real Círculo de Labradores took the victory, followed by the Club Náutico Sevilla and the Club de Remo San Jerónimo. In the men's absolute category, the C.D. Remeros y Piragüistas Veteranos de Sevilla surpassed the Club Náutico Sevilla, which came second.
The men's veteran race was won by a combination formed by the Real Círculo de Labradores and the Remeros y Piragüistas Veteranos, ahead of Labradores themselves and the Club Náutico Sevilla. In the women's veteran category, the Club Náutico Sevilla was crowned champion, leaving the second and third places to two boats from the C.D. Remeros y Piragüistas Veteranos.
Finally, in the women's absolute category, the Club de Remo Guadalquivir 86 claimed victory, completing a very competitive podium. Thus, all five participating clubs managed to secure at least one medal, reflecting the competitive balance of the day.
Trophy Presentation
After midnight, the trophy presentation ceremony took place, attended by the president of the Andalusian Rowing Federation, Fernando Briones; the Sports delegate of the City Council of Seville, María Tena; and the delegate of Major Festivals and the Triana District, Manuel Alés. They all joined the rowers in the final act, highlighting the successful participation and high level of the events.
The Nocturnal Regatta of Triana thus consolidates itself as one of the most unique sporting events in the city, combining tradition, spectacle, and competition in an unparalleled setting. Locals and visitors are already looking forward to the eleventh edition, which promises to maintain the brilliance of this summer event.
