Iconic Santalucía Sevilla Fest transforms Plaza de España into a dance floor with Fatboy Slim as the headliner, but will first broadcast the World Cup semifinal between Spain and France. The DJ will perform at 23:00, if there’s no extra time.

The Plaza de España in Seville is preparing for a historic night. This Tuesday, July 14, the monumental venue will host a fusion of football and electronic music like never seen before. Iconic Santalucía Sevilla Fest has scheduled a live broadcast of the World Cup semifinal between Spain and France, followed by a concert from the legendary British DJ Fatboy Slim.

A schedule starting at 19:30

Attendees can arrive from 19:30 to enjoy the performance of DJ Man, considered a reference in Andalusian electronic music since the eighties. At 20:40, Lady Packa, a pioneer of the national scene with over 35 years of experience, will take over.

At 21:00, the moment fans have been waiting for will arrive: the broadcast of the Spain-France match on the giant screens of the main stage. The festival has set up the venue as a large entertainment area to support the Spanish national team.

The break and international connection

During the match break, around 21:50, DJ Killer, a member of the Satisfaxion and Nätural production teams and one of the historic names in Spanish dance, will perform. The organization has confirmed that FOX Sports, the network holding the international rights to the World Cup, will make live connections with Plaza de España during the match, giving global exposure to the Sevillian atmosphere.

For those unable to be at the venue, the Seville City Council has set up additional screens at other locations in the city, although the experience at Plaza de España promises to be unique.

Fatboy Slim, the main event at 23:00

Once the match is over, the central moment of the night will arrive. Fatboy Slim will take to the stage at 23:00 (if there’s no extra time) with an audiovisual show that will revisit his greatest hits. The British DJ, known for tracks like 'Right Here, Right Now' and 'Praise You', will deliver a live performance that promises to turn Plaza de España into a giant dance floor.

After the main concert, the party will continue with Jordi Slate at 00:40, DJ Rasco at 01:20, and Legend DJs at 02:00. The organization recommends arriving early to avoid queues and enjoy all the performances.

"It’s a unique opportunity to experience football and music in an incomparable setting," stated a festival spokesperson.

Residents of Seville and the metropolitan area have an unmissable appointment. The tickets for Fatboy Slim's concert have been sold out for weeks, but the venue remains open for free access to watch the match, although with limited capacity. The organization recommends checking the festival's social media for real-time updates on capacity.

And if anyone wonders if it’s worth going just for the football, the answer is yes: the atmosphere in Plaza de España, with the Giralda in the background and the music from local DJs, turns any July afternoon into a memorable experience. Plus, there’s always the option to stay and dance afterwards, even if it’s just to forget a possible defeat.
