The Town Hall of Mairena del Alcor, together with Cardioalcor and community nursing, has presented a programme that will bring cardiovascular prevention to markets, schools, care homes, and the football field from September 28 to October 9.
The Health Delegation of the Town Hall of Mairena del Alcor, in collaboration with the Cardioalcor association and the community nursing team, has organised a calendar of activities to commemorate World Heart Day. The aim is to promote health in everyday spaces and raise awareness about the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
The councillor for Health, Alejandro Cruz, has stated that the initiative seeks to unite generations, professionals, and institutions to bring health closer to citizens in familiar places such as schools, care homes, and markets.

The programme kicks off on Monday, September 28 with blood pressure checks and information about the association at the fairground market. The following day, Tuesday, September 29, World Heart Day will be commemorated with the reading of a manifesto at 8:00 PM in Antonio Mairena Square.
On Wednesday, September 30, the activity will move to CEIP Juan Caraballo, where schoolchildren will participate in a physical exercise session, receive fruit, and attend a talk on nutrition and healthy habits with a presentation.
In October, on Friday, October 2, there will be exercise and socialising with seniors at the Alconchel care home. On Thursday, October 9, the Local Heart Day will be celebrated at the football field of C.D. Mairena San Bartolomé, with the participation of nearly 300 people and associations from neighbouring towns. Afterwards, a heart-healthy breakfast will be offered in the celebration hall La Cabaña.
The community nurse Reyes Fernández has emphasised the importance of prevention throughout the year and the accessibility of these activities to raise awareness among the population.
