The singer Diego Clavel, honoured at the Festival de Cante Jondo, has imprinted his hands for the slab to be installed in the Flamenco Walk of Mairena del Alcor.

The singer Diego Clavel, a major honouree at this year's Festival de Cante Jondo Antonio Mairena, has carried out the act of taking handprints in Mairena del Alcor. The imprint made will be used to shape the commemorative slab that will be installed in the Paseo del Flamenco, located along the old fair promenade on Avenida de Andalucía.

With this recognition, the municipality immortalises the prominent figure and contribution of the artist to flamenco art within the itinerary dedicated to the great references of singing, dancing, and guitar playing that have passed through the festival. This initiative is part of the local tradition of paying tribute to those who have contributed to enhancing this event, which each year celebrates the memory of Antonio Mairena.

Residents and visitors will be able to view the new slab in the promenade, which adds to the existing ones from other artists who have left their mark in previous editions. The event, which took place recently, reinforces the bond between flamenco and the locality, the birthplace of this genre and the festival's home for decades.
