The Town Hall of Lebrija will receive this Friday, 25 September, the Medal for Social Penitentiary Merit for the collaboration of the Local Police with the penitentiary centres of Sevilla.
The General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions has awarded the Town Hall of Lebrija the Medal for Social Penitentiary Merit, a recognition of the work that the Local Police of the municipality maintains with the services and penitentiary centres. The award ceremony will take place this Friday, 25 September, as part of the festivities for Our Lady of Mercy, patron saint of Penitentiary Institutions.
The event is organised by the General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions along with the management of the Penitentiary Centres of Sevilla, the Sevilla II Social Insertion Centre, and the Penitentiary Psychiatric Hospital. The distinction is awarded to the town hall for the work that the police force carries out in terms of security and institutional cooperation within the scope of its competencies.
The mayor of Lebrija, José Benito Barroso, has congratulated all members of the Local Police for the recognition and thanked the General Secretariat for granting the medal.
"We receive this distinction with satisfaction and, above all, with gratitude. For the Town Hall of Lebrija, it is an honour to have the work of our Local Police and their collaboration with the penitentiary sector publicly recognised."
The mayor also highlighted the daily work of the officers serving the community. The granting of this medal represents institutional support for the cooperation that the municipality provides to the penitentiary centres in the province.
The award ceremony will take place on Friday, 25 September, as part of the events organised for the festivities of Our Lady of Mercy.
