The City Council of Lebrija and the ALPRED association have addressed the poor condition of the premises on Calle Rafael Alberti due to water leaks. The mayor, Pepe Barroso, has conveyed plans to allocate a space in the project of five housing units on Calle Navia.
The mayor of Lebrija, Pepe Barroso, held a working meeting with representatives of the ALPRED association to discuss the needs of the entity, which provides socio-educational support to at-risk children. The meeting also included the delegate for Social Welfare, Teresa Serrano, and the delegate for Public Services, Antonio Manuel Caro.
During the meeting, the representatives of ALPRED raised several issues related to their daily operations. The central issue was the condition of the premises they occupy on Calle Rafael Alberti, which is deteriorating due to water leaks, affecting the conditions of the space where they assist their users.
Despite the improvement actions carried out by the City Council through the Municipal Public Company, the problem persists. In light of this situation, Barroso has expressed the government's willingness to continue collaborating with the association so that it can carry out its activities under suitable conditions.
The mayor also informed that the City Council is considering, within its medium-term infrastructure planning, the allocation of a space for ALPRED in the construction project of five housing units on Calle Navia. This provision, included in the municipal planning, would address the entity's space needs and improve its working conditions.
Meanwhile, the City Council will continue to address the current needs of the association and maintain the collaboration that both entities have been developing. The possible new location is presented as a medium-term line of work, according to municipal sources.
ALPRED carries out significant socio-educational work in Lebrija, particularly aimed at children at risk of social exclusion. Among its goals are the advice and training of families, neighbourhood associations, and parents' associations, as well as other groups in the municipality.
