The event, with distances of 10K and 21K, will start and finish at Avenida de Barcelona, with proceeds going to the Sahrawi people and the local association ALPRED.
The V Half Marathon Francisco Sánchez Falcón “Paquito” takes place this Sunday, September 27 in Lebrija. Organised by the CD Atletas Unidos Lebrija in collaboration with the Lebrija Town Hall, the event maintains its solidarity and inclusive character and will once again traverse the streets of the municipality on a day that combines sport and community.
The event will feature two distances: 10K and 21K. Both will start and finish at the Avenida de Barcelona. The 21.1-kilometre route will pass through points such as Plaza de España, Corredera, Avenida de Jerez, Avenida de Andalucía, San Francisco, Avenida de Utrera, the area around SE-6300 road, and the Las Marismas industrial estate, as well as other roads and paths within the municipality.
The 10-kilometre route will also start from the Avenida de Barcelona and will go through Plaza de España, Corredera, Arcos, Fernán Velázquez, Lorenzo Leal, Marines, Caracoles, and Caminos Aceituno before returning to the finish area. Walkers will also complete the 10 kilometres, joining the route in the Trinidad area to continue through Plaza de España and follow the same path.
The proceeds from the race will go to the Sahrawi people. In this edition, part of the funds will also be allocated to the ALPRED Association, a local group that supports children and their families. The organisation has highlighted the involvement of security forces, Civil Protection, health and emergency services, as well as the Municipal Sports Board and volunteers.
The event will feature sports speaker Pepe Yepes as the ambassador for this edition. During the presentation, the work of the Athletics Club of Lebrija was recognised, an entity that organised the first four editions and is a reference for athletics in the locality.
Due to the celebration, there will be temporary road closures and disruptions on the streets and roads included in the routes. The organisation advises the public to pay attention to signage and follow the instructions of the agents regulating traffic. The closures are necessary to ensure the safety of the event.
The start and finish will be located at the Avenida de Barcelona. Residents are advised to check the schedules and plan their movements to avoid affected areas during Sunday morning.
