The Plenary of Castilleja de la Cuesta approves a budget of €170,000 from the municipal surplus to renovate the Colón Pensioners' Centre and improve road signage, among other actions.
The Castilleja de la Cuesta Town Hall has given the green light in the municipal plenary to an investment of €170,000 from the municipal surplus to reform the Colón Pensioners' Centre. The project includes the renovation and adaptation of spaces and equipment, with the aim of improving its use among users and ensuring facilities that better meet their needs.
The mayor, Carmen Herrera, had already announced extensive reforms in the two pensioners' centres in the municipality. In fact, the works at the Quevedo Pensioners' Centre, in Nueva Sevilla, are already underway with funds from the Seville Provincial Council through the MÁS SEVILLA programme.
Additionally, the plenary has approved the necessary funds to renew, replace, and improve the horizontal signage on public roads. The objective is to maintain appropriate conditions for road safety, traffic management, mobility, and accessibility.
The approved credit file will also allow for small improvement works in the facilities that will be used by the music bands and in certain municipal dependencies.
“The Town Hall thus fulfils the commitment to provide a space adapted for the music bands, so they can carry out their activities under the best conditions, while also ensuring the rest of the neighbours.”
In the same session, the transfer to the Músico-Cultural Association Banda de CCTT Santísimo Cristo de los Remedios of the facility designated for the music bands' rehearsals was approved. The property, located on Miguel Hernández Street, has been renovated and rehabilitated to convert it into a space divided into two equal premises with exits to that street and to Federico García Lorca Street.
The plot measures 457 square metres and has undergone acoustic insulation following an acoustic study, in compliance with Article 42 of Decree 6/2012, which approves the Regulation for the Protection against Acoustic Pollution in Andalusia. With this improvement, rehearsals will not disturb the surrounding neighbours.
Finally, the plenary has approved the General Account 2025, which details the economic, financial, asset, and budgetary management of the fiscal year. The annual accounts are balanced and allow for investments to provide better services and infrastructure, covering expenses with revenues.
