The Town Hall of Las Cabezas de San Juan has held the Municipal School Council to analyse the 2026-2027 academic year. The session addressed the needs of the schools and public holidays, with a municipal investment of 40,000 euros in maintenance.
The Municipal School Council of Las Cabezas de San Juan has met to mark the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year. The meeting included representatives from educational centres, parents' associations, and other sectors of the local educational community.
One of the central points was the review of the previous academic year and the analysis of the resources available at each centre. The pending needs were also identified and it was agreed to communicate them to the Delegation of Educational Development.
The session also served to set the days of free disposition and the unused holidays for the upcoming academic year. These dates will be communicated to families once they are approved by the competent administration.
The delegate for Education and Equality, Noemí Marchena, highlighted the role of the council as a space for coordination. In her speech, she stated:
“Today we review the education of our town to work together, educational centres, parents' associations, and all the staff involved, to improve day by day the education of our children and contribute our bit.”
The mayor, Pepe Solano, emphasised that the School Council allows for monitoring what has been achieved and detecting what is still lacking. “This is where those initial demands arise,” he stated, adding that the children of Las Cabezas de San Juan “are the present and the future of our town.”
In terms of investments, the Town Hall plans to allocate nearly 40,000 euros of its own funds to maintenance and improvements in educational centres during this academic year. This amount is supplemented by two waterproofing projects that are about to begin, with a combined investment of nearly 50,000 euros, financed through grants.
The improvement of the Carlos Gutiérrez building at the CEIP Juan Marín de Vargas has also been completed, at a cost of around 156,000 euros. The facilities are once again available to the educational community. Additionally, a soil study is being conducted for the future school canteen of the CEIP La Algodonera.
The Town Hall thus maintains its line of collaboration with the centres and families, and calls on the competent administrations for the missing resources. The dates of free disposition and local holidays will be communicated to families in the coming days.
