The Mairena del Alcor City Council will allocate nearly two million euros from the treasury surplus of 2025 to a package of investments that includes a city bus, repairs to sports and cultural facilities, and improvements to parks and municipal buildings.
The full council of Mairena del Alcor has greenlit a budget modification that incorporates nearly two million euros from the treasury surplus for the 2025 fiscal year. This municipal savings amounts to 8,273,666.33 euros, according to data provided by the council.
The councillor for Urban Planning, Santiago Mauri, explained that the actions will be carried out "swiftly between October and January" to address specific needs of the municipality. The largest allocation will be for the purchase of a city bus, with 544,500 euros, to renew local public transport.
Another significant allocation is for payments arising from court rulings, which total 407,910.84 euros. Following that, 401,104.78 euros will be invested in improvements to municipal buildings and public spaces, and 235,942.92 euros in cultural facilities.
Sports facilities will receive 228,965 euros, with planned interventions in the municipal swimming pool and gym, among other dependencies. In the environmental chapter, 99,370.92 euros is reserved for replacing trees and playgrounds, along with the purchase of a mower for 18,513 euros.
The allocation for the Local Police amounts to 14,543.15 euros and will be used for security equipment. According to the councillor for Urban Planning, these interventions consist of small works for adaptation, maintenance, and the purchase of materials for public infrastructures.
The aim, Mauri noted, is to improve the quality of municipal services and the coexistence of the residents of Mairena del Alcor. The works will begin in the coming months and will extend until early 2027.
