The Corral de la Casa de la Cultura in Osuna will host the twenty-first edition of the Flamenco Festival on Saturday, August 29, featuring six singers, dance, and guitar. Advance tickets cost €10.

The Sevillian municipality of Osuna is finalising preparations for its most anticipated flamenco event of the summer. The 21st Flamenco Festival of Osuna will take place on Saturday, August 29 at 10:00 PM in the Corral de la Casa de la Cultura, as confirmed this Wednesday by the municipal delegate for Culture, Jesús Heredia, and the president of the Peña Flamenca La Siguiriya, Manuel Zamora, during the event's presentation at the Municipal Theatre Álvarez Quintero.

This edition's lineup features six voices with very different styles: Pedro El Granaino, accompanied on guitar by Patrocinio Hijo and with clapping by Luis Dorado and Miguel Heredia; María Rey; the local singer Ángel Verdugo, with Juan Manuel Cadenas “El Chino” on guitar and María José and Isabel León on clapping; and Montse Cortés, with Eduardo Cortés on guitar. The dance will be performed by María Távora, accompanied by Manuel de la Niña and José Pechuguita singing and David Caro on guitar.

Heredia highlighted the work of the City Council in putting together the lineup each year and emphasised that “we put a lot of work, care, and love into bringing these lineups every year.” He also thanked the support of the Peña Flamenca La Siguiriya and the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Seville and the Junta de Andalucía, whose contributions, he noted, “help us strengthen a festival that is fully established in the region and is gaining importance day by day.”

The delegate described the lineup as “characterised by that balance and difference of voices and also styles,” which will allow for a varied offering to the audience. Additionally, he acknowledged the local singer Ángel Verdugo, stating that “his voice is a flamenco voice, a voice that people like and is from Osuna,” and assured that “the City Council must be there to showcase his art and his way of understanding flamenco.” He also praised the local pianist Javier Cecilia, who will perform his show Sincerarte in the same venue the day before, on Friday, August 28.

For his part, Manuel Zamora appreciated the lineup designed for this 21st edition, stating that “once again, the Municipal Delegation of Culture of this City Council has got it right” and that it will be “a very interesting and well-balanced festival,” bringing together “a good level of singing, playing, dancing, and, why not say it, of rhythm and clapping.”

Tickets are priced at €10 in advance and €15 at the box office. They can be purchased at the Casa de la Cultura, at the Osuna Tourist Office, or through the online platform osunacultura.sacatuentrada.es. The delegate has invited locals and visitors to enjoy “live flamenco, direct flamenco, where we will enjoy great artists and one of the most important identities of Andalucía and Spain,” in a space he described as “unparalleled.”
