The neighbourhood of Las Almenas, in Tomares, hosted its traditional summer fair from July 3 to 5, featuring live music, magic, and children's activities. The mayor, José María Soriano, presented the prizes for the contests.

Pepe Marchena street, in the heart of the Las Almenas neighbourhood, became the epicentre of fun in Tomares this weekend. The Velá de las Almenas, organised by the General Community of Las Almenas in collaboration with the Town Hall, brought together hundreds of locals over three days, from July 3 to 5, to bid farewell to spring and welcome summer.

Music, Magic, and Contests for Everyone

The programme included live musical performances by the Orquesta Decibelios, Toni Espino, Ercama, and Star Bugs Band, who enlivened the nights in Tomares. Magic also had its place with the show by Juan Soto the Magician, which left both young and old in awe.

The little ones enjoyed fun children's activities, while the refreshment service allowed families to share moments of conversation and drinks. The contests organised during the evening were very well received, and the mayor, José María Soriano, was responsible for handing out the prizes to the winners on Sunday night.

A Success that Repeats Year After Year

“We bid farewell to the Velá de Las Almenas. My sincerest congratulations to the Association and Community of Neighbours for the great work they do to ensure that, year after year, it remains a success,” highlighted the mayor during the awards ceremony. Soriano was accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, Major Festivals, and Traditions, Magdalena Ybarra.

The evening, which has already established itself as one of the first festive events of the summer in Tomares, once again demonstrated the involvement of the neighbourhood's residents. The organisation is managed by the General Community of Las Almenas, which dedicates itself each year to offering a varied and attractive programme.

Summer Kicks Off with a Festive Atmosphere

For the people of Tomares, the Velá de las Almenas is much more than a fair: it is the starting gun for summer festivities. For three days, Pepe Marchena street fills with joy and excitement, and this year was no exception. Families were able to enjoy a safe and welcoming atmosphere, with activities designed for all ages.

The Town Hall of Tomares has reminded those who wish to stay informed about future editions and other activities to follow the municipal social media, where all updated information is published. The next summer event on the Tomares calendar will be the Velá de San Roque, which will take place in August.

For now, the residents of Las Almenas are left with a good taste in their mouths and hope to repeat it next year. Because if this evening proves anything, it is that when the community comes together, fun is guaranteed.
