The Municipal Auditorium Rafael de León in Tomares raises the curtain on its 2026-2027 theatre season this Thursday, October 1st, at 20:30 hours. On stage are two prominent names from the Spanish scene: Imanol Arias and María Barranco, who perform the comedy 'Mejor no decirlo'.
The play, written by Salomé Lelouch and directed by Claudio Tolcachir, portrays a couple who, after years of living together, have made silence their best weapon. The plot raises the question of what would happen if, for once, they decided to say absolutely everything. It is a comedy about what is left unsaid and what is preferred not to hear.
This performance is part of a cycle of six major theatre productions that the Tomares City Council has scheduled within the 'Cultural Autumn' 2026. The complete programme features over 50 proposals in theatre, music, dance, opera, film, and literature, according to municipal sources.
The theatrical calendar will continue on Friday, October 9th, with the classic by Agatha Christie 'Murder on the Orient Express', directed and performed by José Saiz, with Jaime Vicedo and Helena Font in the cast. On Thursday, October 29th, it will be the turn of 'Lázaro de Tormes', an adaptation of the classic by Pata Teatro, directed and performed by Josemi Rodríguez alongside Macarena Pérez Bravo and Lucas Mora. In November, the municipal theatre will host 'La reina brava' on Thursday 5th and 'Pero no se lo digas a nadie' on Thursday 12th. The year will close on Thursday, December 3rd with 'El barbero de Picasso', starring Antonio Molero, Pepe Viyuela, and Mar Calvo.
Other figures such as Martirio, Agustín Jiménez, and Macarena Pérez will also feature in the cycle. The programme aims to bring top-level shows to the residents of Tomares and establish the municipality as a cultural reference in the Aljarafe.
