The Tomares Town Hall opens ticket sales for the bus service to Punta Umbría from Monday to Wednesday, which started on July 2 and continues every Thursday in August.
The Tomares Town Hall is once again running the municipal service “Thursdays at the Beach”, which transports registered residents to the beach at Punta Umbría (Huelva) each week. Tickets for the August trips can now be purchased from Monday to Wednesday, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM, at the municipal building of Casas de Hermandad, located at Calle Tomás Ybarra, 14.
The programme, which began on July 2, has no limit on seats: the council provides as many buses as tickets are sold each week, ensuring that no resident is left without a spot. Departures are every Thursday at 9:00 AM from Calle José Monge Cruz “Camarón de la Isla”, next to the Peña Cultural Flamenca de Tomares, with the return scheduled for 7:30 PM.
The price of the trip is 5 euros, with discounts for young people up to 35 years old and job seekers from the SAE, who pay 3.50 euros, and for retirees, pensioners, those over 60, large families, and people with disabilities and their companions, who pay 2.50 euros. To benefit from the reduced rates, proof of eligibility must be provided with the ID card, job seeker card, disability certificate, retirement document, or large family title.
The initiative, promoted by the Social Welfare department, is designed to make the beach accessible to those who do not want to drive: seniors, families, and groups of young people can enjoy a full day on the Huelva coast without the worry of having to drive. It is one of the classic summer programmes in Tomares, established after several editions and eagerly awaited each summer season.
The Town Hall reminds that it is mandatory to present the ID card both when purchasing the ticket and when boarding the bus. All updated information is published on the municipal website and on the official social media profiles of the council.
