The sixth day of the municipal initiative 'Thursdays at the Beach' set off this Thursday with five buses and around 300 residents heading to Punta Umbría. The programme, with no limit on places, brings the coast closer to residents for 5 euros.

Around 300 residents of Tomares headed to the beaches of Punta Umbría this Thursday on the sixth outing of the municipal programme 'Thursdays at the Beach'. Five buses departed at 9:00 AM from José Monge Cruz 'Camarón de la Isla' street, next to the Peña Cultural Flamenca, carrying coolers, chairs, and umbrellas.

The initiative, organised by the Tomares Town Hall through the Social Welfare department, is one of the summer classics in the municipality. There is no limit on places: the Town Hall provides as many buses as tickets sold each Thursday, ensuring that no resident misses their beach day.

Present at this morning's outing were the special delegate for Citizen Participation, Carmen de la Cuesta, and the Sports delegate, Antonio Parrilla, who accompanied the travellers before they set off towards the Huelva coast.

Prices and Discounts

The ticket costs 5 euros, with reduced rates for different groups: 3.50 euros for young people up to 35 years old and job seekers registered with the SAE, and 2.50 euros for retirees, pensioners, those over 60, large families, and people with disabilities and their companions.

Those eligible for these discounts must provide the corresponding documentation: ID card, job seeker card, disability certificate, retirement document, or large family certificate. Additionally, it is mandatory to present the ID both when purchasing the ticket and when boarding the bus.

How to Obtain Tickets

Tickets can be purchased from Monday to Wednesday, between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM, at the municipal building of Casas de Hermandad, located at Tomás Ybarra street, 14. Departures are repeated every Thursday in July and August at 9:00 AM, with a return scheduled for 7:30 PM.

For seniors, families with children, and groups of young people, the service eliminates the need to drive and offers a comfortable and safe alternative. The next outing will be on Thursday, August 13, with the seventh outing of the summer.
