The Sanlúcar la Mayor Town Hall has awarded the social enterprise UNEI the cleaning reinforcement for educational centres and the ecocentre. The contract will generate ten part-time jobs for a year.
The Town Hall of Sanlúcar la Mayor will launch a cleaning reinforcement service in schools, nurseries, and other municipal facilities this September. The contractor will be UNEI, a non-profit social enterprise from Andalusia, and the contract will allow for the creation of ten part-time jobs lasting one year.
The mayor, Raúl Castilla, explained that the initiative strengthens municipal services while also creating job opportunities for local residents. He particularly valued the collaboration with UNEI to promote the employment of people with disabilities.
The Education delegate, Amparo López, emphasized that improving cleaning and maintenance in the centres contributes to ensuring that educational spaces are in suitable conditions for teaching activities. Meanwhile, the Finance delegate, Laura Luna, highlighted the Town Hall's commitment to efficient management of public resources that positively impacts employment and support for people with disabilities.
UNEI is already selecting candidates and will prioritise individuals with disabilities, in line with the company's social mission. Both the company and the Town Hall want the jobs to be local, so they are collaborating to disseminate the job offers. Applications can be submitted through UNEI's employment portal.
The hired individuals will be responsible for cleaning the schools La Paz and San Eustaquio, the nurseries La Paz, Virgen del Rosario, and Platero y Yo, the study room Ecocentro, the Municipal Training Centre, and the building on Calle Cádiz.
The Operations Director of UNEI Services, Rafael Jiménez Puertas, encouraged those who meet the profile to apply, in a service that will be run by a company with extensive experience in caring for educational centres in Andalusia. He highlighted UNEI's enthusiasm for starting an activity that meets a public need and creates jobs, and conveyed their commitment to growth in the municipality.
UNEI employs over 2,000 people across Andalusia, with 900 in the province of Seville. The company is predominantly owned by the Grupo Social ONCE, through Ilunion, and by the Junta de Andalucía, via the Public Foundation of Andalusia for the Social Integration of People with Mental Illness (FAISEM).
