The Mairena del Aljarafe Town Council will allocate more than 10 million euros to the Mairena Al Día plan, approved in the Plenary on 23 July, to renew lighting, street cleaning, gardens, and other essential services.
The Town Council of Mairena del Aljarafe has launched the Mairena Al Día plan, endowed with more than 10 million euros from the municipal budgets approved by the Plenary on 23 July. The aim is to modernise the essential and everyday services of the municipality.
The plan includes the comprehensive renewal of public lighting, a new maintenance service for pavements and asphalting, improvements to municipal gardening, repainting of public educational centres, and the purchase of new vehicles for Citizen Services. The tree pits in the municipality will also be renewed, and street cleaning will be reinforced, which will continue to be one of the pillars of daily attention.
The most notable allocations are 5.8 million euros for public lighting, 2.74 million euros annually for street cleaning, 600,000 euros a year for the new pavement service, and 512,500 euros annually for the maintenance of gardens and parks. Additionally, 400,000 euros are allocated for the renewal of tree pits, 144,000 euros a year for maintaining the painting of public schools, and 128,000 euros for the renewal of vehicles.
The mayor of Mairena del Aljarafe, Antonio Conde, has assured that with this plan "we are going to sustain the second modernisation of Mairena after the Expo of '92". In his words, "we will do this by renewing essential and everyday services, such as cleaning, gardening, our parks, pavements, lighting, or tree pits, to continue improving the quality of life for our residents".
The municipal accounts also increase investment in modernising essential services by 11%, nearly quadruple the budget for employment, multiply support for businesses by more than three times, and double housing policies. Additionally, resources for youth increase by 18%, those for the elderly by nearly 40%, and investment in educational programming by more than 80%.
The budget also strengthens support for neighbourhood associations, launches the future Civil Protection Group, and multiplies investment nearly sixfold to design a municipal strategy against heat. With these measures, the Town Council seeks to improve the daily lives of the residents of Mairena del Aljarafe with more efficient services tailored to current needs.
