The Mairena del Aljarafe Town Council has awarded the purchase of two vehicles for urban maintenance services for 153,000 euros. This is the final step of the Mairena Al Día plan, which exceeds an investment of 11 million.

The Mairena del Aljarafe Town Council has awarded 153,000 euros for the expansion of the Citizen Services fleet, the sixth and final axis of the Mairena Al Día plan. This action will allow for the incorporation of two new vehicles to reinforce municipal urban maintenance and public road conservation work.

One of the vehicles will be a light industrial vehicle on a chassis with a body and multibucket system, designed to transport materials, tools, and equipment. The other will be a van with a lift platform for work at heights for up to two people, such as maintaining street lighting, signage, or pruning.

The councillor responsible for Infrastructure and Citizen Services, José Luis Girón, explained that this purchase aims to provide a more agile response to the daily needs of the municipality. "We are expanding the resources of our municipal services to better respond to daily needs and address the work that Mairena requires more quickly," he stated.

The Town Council expects to have the two vehicles within a maximum period of five months. With this award, the Mairena Al Día plan is completed, mobilising more than 11 million euros to modernise six essential services: gardening, pavements, lighting, tree pits, painting of public educational centres, and the Citizen Services fleet.

The plan started in 2023, after the street cleaning service was renewed, and with this last purchase, all planned fronts are covered. Residents will notice the improvement in the speed with which urban maintenance issues are resolved, from a blown streetlight to the repair of a pavement.
