The new accounts, approved on July 23, multiply by four the resources for employment and triple the aid to businesses, with €364,000 to attract funds from other administrations.
The Mairena del Aljarafe City Council launches a budget with an unprecedented boost to the allocations for fund acquisition, employment, and support for the business fabric. The mayor, Antonio Conde, explained that the aim is to "strengthen the solvency of the City Council and the local economy."
The accounts, approved by the Plenary on July 23, include an allocation of €364,000 to enhance the management and acquisition of funds from other administrations. This investment will enable the promotion of modernization projects in the municipality.
The budget nearly quadruples the resources from the previous year in terms of employment. With this increase, the City Council will launch its own employment plans to compensate for the cuts to the Andalusian Government's programmes in Mairena del Aljarafe for the 2025/2026 academic year.
In the chapter on business support, the allocation for aid and services to businesses multiplies by more than three. This funding will allow for the maintenance of support for the business fabric, the introduction of new services for freelancers and companies through business associations, and the consolidation of aid aimed at young entrepreneurs.
"We are expanding the team for fund acquisition and management, and reinforcing investment for employment and our businesses," noted Antonio Conde.
The accounts also support families and allocate more than €10 million to modernize everyday services through the Mairena Al Día plan. Additionally, they strengthen housing policies, increase resources for youth by 18%, nearly 40% for policies aimed at the elderly, and raise investment in educational programming by over 80%.
The budget expands support for neighbourhood associations and initiates the future Civil Protection Group, aiming to strengthen coexistence in the municipality. Residents will notice these allocations in services such as education, employment, and support for the elderly, with programmes that will be activated throughout the year.
