El Tronío theatre in Gines hung the 'sold out' sign at the first event of the second season subscription, the opera 'Dido & Eneas' by Purcell, which opened a programme with four more shows until November 13.
The auditorium of El Tronío theatre in Gines was filled last Friday to attend the performance of the opera 'Dido & Eneas', the first of the five events that make up the second season subscription organised by the Culture delegation of the Gines Town Hall.
The work, one of the best-known by the Baroque composer Henry Purcell with a libretto by Nahum Tate, was performed in three acts and featured a large group of performers and musicians, along with the participation of two dancers who brought the protagonists to life.
The staging was handled by the company Ottava Rima, directed by Israel Moreno, who transported the audience to one of the most intense lyrical dramas of the Baroque period. The organisation of this event was carried out in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Seville.
The programme for the second subscription will continue on September 25 at 21:00 hours with the theatrical comedy 'La última y nos vamos'. Afterwards, on October 16 at 20:30 hours, it will be the turn of 'El diario del asesino de la regañá'.
In November, on the 6th, the dance production with lights and shadows titled 'Éter' will be shown, and on the 13th, the subscription will close with the play 'Wendy también vuela'.
