The City Council of La Rinconada has presented the programme for the Cultural Centres for this autumn season, which includes 17 shows of theatre, circus, dance, and music. The offer kicks off on 18 September with the Flamenco Singing Festival El Búcaro.
The First Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Culture, Raquel Vega, announced this Wednesday the programme that will fill the municipal theatres of La Rinconada over the coming months. She was joined by the technical director of culture, Antonio Castro, and representatives from some of the companies that will participate, such as Lolo Barrera from Buendía, Ricardo Iniesta from Atalaya, María Martínez from Cía Tejada, Rebeca Torres from La Maraña Teatro, and Rosa del Cerro from Cía TresGracias.
The programme includes a total of 17 shows that will be distributed across the various performance spaces in the municipality. The proposal encompasses classical and contemporary theatre, circus, dance, live music, and family shows, featuring companies awarded with Max, Lorca, Ateneo, and Zentradas prizes.
“We are entering a new autumn season for our Cultural Centres, and we are doing so with a vibrant, diverse, and high-quality programme,” said Vega during the presentation.
The Culture representative emphasised that the offer continues to support “prestigious companies and shows recognised at the highest level,” and noted that La Rinconada is consolidating itself as a showcase for theatre, contemporary circus, dance, and music. In this edition, current themes such as care, adolescence, and the enslavement of beauty standards will play a significant role, with women as protagonists in several proposals.
The Flamenco Singing Festival El Búcaro will kick off the season, reaching its 43rd edition and taking place on 18 September at the Hacienda Santa Cruz. The lineup includes El Pele, Consuelo Haldón, Rubito Hijo, and Caracolillo de Cádiz.
In October, on the 2nd, the company Las Niñas de Cádiz, a regular in the municipality, will stage ‘La reina brava’, a story about a political assassination and a mother’s revenge. The following day, the local group Buendía, made up of Paco Pérez, Kini López, Fernando Espina, and Lolo Barrera, will offer a concert of indie, pop, and rock with a charitable entry: one kilogram of non-perishable food.
On 9 October, as part of the Cirktober festival, Lapso Producciones will present ‘Jaleo, el grito de Lorca’, a show that mixes circus, music, and poetry around the figure of Federico García Lorca. The next day, La Butaca Roja, featuring Paz de Alarcón and Juanjo Macías, will review their journey in ‘Alma de cabaret’.
On 16 October, it will be the turn of ‘El rey de la farándula’, from the producer Lazona, a cabaret set in the Golden Age that uncovers secrets of the court of Felipe IV. The following day, the company Tresgracias, awarded the Lorca 2025 Prize for Best Revelation Company and the Zentradas 2025 for Best Direction for Rosa del Cerro and Lola Montiel, will bring ‘Wendy también vuela’, a reflection on care and female autonomy inspired by Peter Pan.
The Madrid-based company La Contraria will arrive on 23 October with ‘Contra Ana’, an autofiction by Alma García about her experience with anorexia, which won the Premio Max 2025 for Best Revelation Show. On 24 October, Lamaraña Teatro will stage ‘Lope Exprés’, a cheeky musical based on the verses of Lope de Vega, awarded a Lorca 2025 and a Zentradas 2026.
The Málaga-based company Jóvenes Clásicos will participate with two productions: on 30 October with ‘Los guardianes del verso’, about poetry as a refuge for adolescence, and on 31 October with ‘Inés de Ulloa’, a re-examination of the Don Juan myth from the cell of a convent.
On 6 November, the premiere in work in progress format of ‘El embustero’, by Cía Javier Prieto, is scheduled, an exercise in retrofuturism that combines early 20th-century music with electronics and computer-generated cinematography.
The programme is complemented by other parallel cultural activities such as Estación de las Letras, the International Campus of Cultural Journalism, exhibitions, Urban Museum, and the Festival of Performing Arts for Children. Tickets for the shows can be purchased through the usual channels of the City Council of La Rinconada.
