The La Rinconada Town Hall will invest €100,000 from the Sevilla 107 Plan to expand the shaded areas in the playgrounds of all primary schools for the upcoming school year.
The La Rinconada Town Hall has launched the second phase of the Shade Plan, an initiative that will bring sun protection to all primary education centres in the municipality. With an investment of nearly €100,000, funded by the Sevilla 107 Plan, the project will expand the shaded areas in the outdoor spaces of schools for the next academic year.
The delegate for Primary Education and Public Infrastructure, Rafael Reyes, visited the works at CEIP Maestro Pepe González and explained that this action responds to a long-standing demand from the educational community. "The Shade Plan addresses a need that the educational community has been conveying to us for some time," he stated.
The first phase of the plan already allowed for the installation of shade structures at several centres. Now, this second phase will extend and enlarge the existing areas to provide greater protection during recess, sports activities, and outdoor educational proposals.
The aim is to adapt the playgrounds to high temperatures and improve the comfort of students throughout the year. "We are not only continuing an initiative that has already proven its usefulness, but we are also expanding the protected areas so that students can enjoy more comfortable and safer playgrounds," added Reyes.
The works are being carried out at the schools in the municipality and will be completed before the start of the next school year, when students will be able to enjoy the new shaded spaces.
