The mayor of Utrera, Francisco Jiménez, and the territorial delegate for Development, María Teresa Ávila, review pending road projects. The drafting of the Eastern Bypass project remains unawarded.
The mayor of Utrera, Francisco Jiménez, held a working meeting with the territorial delegate of the Junta de Andalucía in Sevilla for Housing, Territorial Articulation, Development and Mobility, María Teresa Ávila, to review the infrastructure projects affecting the municipality. The municipal delegate for Housing, Business and Economic Reactivation, Isabel González, also participated in the meeting.
One of the central issues was the Eastern Bypass, an infrastructure that the City Council has been demanding for years to remove long-distance traffic from the urban fabric currently supported by the A-394 road. The territorial delegate informed the municipal representatives that the drafting of the project is still pending award.
The mayor raised the need to advance a connection between the A-375, the Utrera ring road, and the A-8030, the road to Las Alcantarillas. This action would improve access to the land reserved for the future Logistics Centre and organise the circulation and distribution of traffic that its development will generate.
Alongside medium-term projects, the meeting addressed more immediate actions. Jiménez requested the installation of noise barriers on the Northern Ring Road to reduce traffic disturbances in nearby residential areas. The Junta confirmed that the measure is already included in its planning.
Regarding the A-394, the renewal works on the pavement in the section between the Northern Ring Road and the junction with the Los Molares road have just been completed. The mayor took the opportunity to ask the regional administration to reinforce the maintenance and improvement of this road as it passes through Utrera, including its roundabouts and associated spaces, as it is a road owned by the regional government.
The meeting also served to address other issues of interest to the municipality, including housing matters and various improvement actions. Both administrations agreed to maintain coordination for the development of future actions.
