El Majuelo Park in La Rinconada experienced a magical evening with the cultural and astronomical proposal 'Perseids, an inner journey', which combined music, outreach, and star observation.

El Majuelo Park in La Rinconada hosted a special evening last night to mark the peak of the Perseids. The proposal 'Perseids, an inner journey', organised by the company Aura Flamenca, brought together a large audience in an experience that combined astronomical outreach, music, and sky contemplation.

The activity began with an introduction about the origin and characteristics of this meteor shower, with explanations projected on a large screen set up in the venue. Afterwards, the screens were turned off so that attendees could adjust their eyes to the darkness, and a session of soft electronic music inspired by the stars began, led by David Sálezmar, director of Aura Flamenca.

The audience settled into reclining chairs, blankets, and other seating to enjoy a peaceful evening while searching for shooting stars in the sky. The chosen area was a part of the park specifically selected for its darkness and tranquility, away from the entrance, games, and celebrations, to create an atmosphere conducive to disconnecting from the daily rhythm.

The day had an extra incentive: it coincided with a total solar eclipse at sunset, a historic phenomenon in Spain that could be observed from the park itself, which became a meeting point for those wishing to enjoy sky observation.

The Culture delegate of the La Rinconada City Council, Raquel Vega, had met days earlier with David Sálezmar and Rafael Cano, members of Aura Flamenca, to learn the details of the initiative. Vega highlighted the innovative nature of the proposal and its ability to unite culture, outreach, and enjoyment of the environment.

“Aura Flamenca represents a commitment to culture, talent, and the creation of different proposals,” she stated.

El Majuelo Park, due to its spaciousness and serenity, established itself as an exceptional setting for this event that began with the eclipse and continued into the night, when the sky filled with shooting stars. The free event once again demonstrated the appeal of outdoor cultural proposals in La Rinconada.
