The Velá de Santiago and Santa Ana 2026 will be held from July 21 to 26 in Triana with extended hours for booths and terraces, a special mobility plan, and a cleaning operation with 82 workers.
The City Council of Seville has presented the plan for the Velá de Santiago and Santa Ana 2026, which will take place from 21 to 26 July in the Triana neighbourhood. The main novelty of this edition is the extension of the hours for terrace tables, which will be allowed to remain open until the early hours of July 27, and the authorisation of high tables without chairs on streets such as Betis, San Jorge, Callao, and the plaza del Altozano.
Hours for booths and terraces
The booths of the Velá will open each day from 20:00 to 03:00 hours, except on the nights of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, when closing will be delayed until 04:00 hours. Establishments with traditional tables and chairs must remove them before 21:00 hours.
The extended hours for the terraces aim to boost local hospitality and respond to the high demand from the public during the nights of the Velá. The residents of Triana will have to coexist with the noise until later, although the City Council has assured that sound levels will be monitored.
Special mobility plan in Triana
Traffic in the neighbourhood will undergo modifications from 21 July to 27. The streets San Jorge and Antillano Campos will change direction to facilitate circulation. The taxi stop at Arjona, next to the Isabel II Bridge, will remain, and two provisional stops will be set up on Pagés del Corro during the night.
Paving works on Castilla street will condition this year's mobility plan, so drivers are advised to avoid the Triana area during peak hours. Residents with authorised parking will be able to access their garages, but with specific restrictions.
Prohibition of scooters and bicycles in pedestrian areas
During the entire Velá, it will be prohibited to ride a bicycle or scooter in the pedestrian areas of the festival grounds. Additionally, the parking of rental electric bicycles will be temporarily disabled at the beginning of Betis street, next to the entrance to the public parking.
This measure aims to ensure the safety of pedestrians, who crowd the streets of Triana every year during the nights of the Velá. Users of these vehicles will need to find alternative parking in the surrounding streets.
Cleaning operation and public transport
The cleaning operation will consist of 82 workers and 38 vehicles that will operate both in the festival area and in the surrounding areas, including Los Remedios, to keep the streets in optimal condition during the six days of the Velá.
The public transport lines connecting Seville with Triana will enhance their service during the nights of the Velá, with shorter frequencies and extended hours until the early morning. Attendees are advised to use public transport to avoid traffic jams and parking difficulties.
The Velá de Santa Ana is one of the largest festivals in Seville, and this year a turnout similar to previous editions is expected, with thousands of visitors each night. The residents of Triana are already preparing for a week of bustle, music, and tradition, although with the inconveniences that come with setting up booths and closing streets.
For attendees, the City Council recommends planning trips in advance and checking public transport schedules on the Tussam website. The Velá will kick off on July 21 at 20:00 with the lighting of the decorations and the opening of booths.
