Manuel Pellegrini's Real Betis will play their first pre-season friendly on Saturday, July 18 against German side Sportfreunde Lotte. The match will be available to watch on OneFootball for €4.99.

Real Betis has set a date for their first test of the 2026-2027 pre-season. The verdiblanco team will face Sportfreunde Lotte from Germany next Saturday, July 18, as confirmed by the OneFootball platform, which will exclusively broadcast the match.

The game, which will take place in Germany, will mark the first contact for Manuel Pellegrini's team with competition after the summer break. Betis fans will be able to follow the team's early developments and the new signings live through a one-time payment of €4.99.

A fourth division opponent to start rolling

Sportfreunde Lotte competes in the Regionalliga West, the fourth tier of German football, and will be an accessible rival for the verdiblancos to gain momentum. The Chilean coach will be able to test formations and give minutes to less regular players in a low-pressure environment.

Betis arrives at this pre-season after a campaign in which they finished in seventh place in LaLiga, qualifying for the Conference League. The management has opted to maintain the core of the squad and make targeted signings to strengthen the attack and midfield.

For the Sevilla fan, this first friendly is an opportunity to see the initial strokes of the team ahead of an exciting season. The broadcast on OneFootball allows fans to follow the match from anywhere, although the platform warns that there may be geographical restrictions, so it is recommended to check availability before purchasing the pass.

The precedent of Rayo Vallecano and the digital push

One day earlier, on Friday, July 17, Rayo Vallecano will also start their pre-season against Scottish side Hearts in a match that will cost €2.99. Both matches are part of OneFootball's strategy to bring summer football into homes with a pay-per-view format.

For Betis, these types of agreements are not new. The club has shown openness to digital platforms in recent years to reach their global fanbase. The match against Sportfreunde Lotte will also serve as a test to assess the performance of players who have arrived this summer, such as the Argentinian centre-forward who has already been officially presented.

Betis's pre-season will continue with other scheduled friendlies in the coming weeks, including a tournament in Germany and a home match against Sevilla FC in the Antonio Puerta Trophy, planned for August. Betis season ticket holders are eagerly awaiting that clash, but first, they need to focus on the summer preparations.

The match on Saturday will be available to watch live through the OneFootball app, available for mobile devices and smart TVs. The kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 hours (local German time), 18:00 in mainland Spain.
