The Hermandad de la Esperanza de Guillena has signed an agreement with the Agrupación Musical El Carpio from Córdoba for Passion Saturday 2027. The Córdoba group replaces the Agrupación Musical Fuensanta de Morón.
The Hermandad de la Esperanza de Guillena announced on Monday the agreement reached with the Agrupación Musical El Carpio from Córdoba to musically accompany Our Father Jesus Nazareno during the penitential station of Passion Saturday 2027. The decision, made in the Cabildo de Oficiales, represents a change in formation compared to previous years.
The Guillena corporation has opted to maintain the style of musical group, but now with the sounds of El Carpio from Córdoba. The Board of Government has expressed gratitude to the management and members of the band for their closeness and willingness shown from the very beginning.
A new sound for the Nazareno
The Agrupación Musical El Carpio will be responsible for providing their sounds behind the float of Our Father Jesus Nazareno on the evening of the upcoming Passion Saturday. The Hermandad has expressed its excitement about this new agreement, convinced that the music of the Córdoba formation will help to enhance one of the most important days for the corporation.
The Hermandad entrusts this new path to its titular figures, wishing to experience unforgettable penitential stations alongside the group.
“We hope that this new union will be marked by commitment, brotherhood, and love for traditions,” sources from the brotherhood have stated.
Third commitment of El Carpio in the province of Seville
The signing with the Esperanza de Guillena strengthens the presence of the Agrupación Musical El Carpio in the province of Seville for Holy Week 2027. This agreement adds to other known commitments, such as their renewal with the Hermandad del Cautivo y Rescatado of La Algaba for Holy Wednesday and their signing in Osuna for Palm Sunday, after the float of La Borriquita from the brotherhood of the Sweet Name of Jesus.
Thus, the Córdoba formation reaches its third confirmed contract in the province of Seville, consolidating a notable growth within the map of musical groups that are beginning to gain space on different days and locations. Guillena thus joins an expanding calendar for El Carpio, which continues to broaden its presence beyond Córdoba.
A growing brotherhood
The arrival of El Carpio comes at a time of growth for the Hermandad de la Esperanza de Guillena, which continues to work enthusiastically on its upcoming heritage and devotional projects. One of the most notable is the incorporation of the future float of the Virgin of Hope, an image that currently processes on the mystery float of Our Father Jesus Nazareno.
A project that is part of the corporation's growth path and keeps the enthusiasm alive among brothers and devotees. For the residents of Guillena, this change represents a novelty in the local Holy Week, which will see how the sounds of Córdoba accompany their Nazareno on a key day of the brotherhood calendar.
The agreement is already closed, and preparations for Passion Saturday 2027 will begin in the coming months, with rehearsals and coordination between the brotherhood and the musical group.
