Real Betis goalkeeper Diego Conde had to leave the field in the 35th minute of the friendly against Granada after a clash with Diego Llorente. The club is awaiting medical tests to determine the extent of the injury to his left shoulder.

Diego Conde's first start with Real Betis has been overshadowed by an injury. The goalkeeper, who was officially presented as a new verdiblanco player just 24 hours earlier, had to leave the pitch in the 35th minute of the third friendly of the pre-season after suffering a heavy blow to his left shoulder.

The incident occurred after a long ball behind the Betis defence. Conde came out of his area to anticipate the Granada attacker but accidentally collided with his teammate Diego Llorente. Both players lay on the grass, but while Llorente was able to continue until half-time, the goalkeeper showed greater problems and was substituted by Álvaro Valles.

Betis conducted an initial assessment on the field and confirmed the impact on the left shoulder of the Madrid native. In the coming hours, medical tests will determine whether there is a more serious injury or if the substitution was merely a precautionary measure. Conde's potential absence would pose a setback for Manuel Pellegrini in the midst of pre-season, just as the goalkeeper was beginning to accumulate minutes following his loan arrival from Villarreal.

Up until the incident, the debutant had experienced a demanding match. Granada took the lead with a header from Owen Mina following a set-piece, the first goal conceded by Betis in this pre-season. Conde had already played his first minutes as a verdiblanco in the Trofeo Colombino, where he replaced Valles in the second half against Recreativo de Huelva.

The uncertainty surrounding Conde's physical condition keeps the coaching staff on edge, as they await the definitive diagnosis to plan the upcoming weeks of preparation. Betis still faces several friendlies before the start of LaLiga, and the possible absence of the goalkeeper could open the door for more minutes for Valles or even a move in the transfer market.
