AFNEOS and Sastipem Thaj Mestapem receive 15,660 and 9,360 euros respectively for brain injury and ethnobotanical heritage projects. The mayor and the councillor for Social Services accompanied the entities during the delivery of the resolutions.
The line of aid for social interest projects in the province of Sevilla, called by the Provincial Diputación, has resolved two grants in Estepa. In total, the Estepa entities will receive 25,020 euros to develop initiatives aimed at improving social care and promoting the participation of various groups.
The association AFNEOS (Association of Caregivers and Affected by Stroke and Brain Injuries of Estepa) has obtained 15,660 euros for the project “Integra DC, Comprehensive Intervention for Acquired Brain Injury”. This initiative includes direct care for individuals affected by acquired brain injury and their families, and involves hiring professionals and purchasing specialised materials for those who have suffered a stroke.
Meanwhile, Sastipem Thaj Mestapem has received 9,360 euros to launch “Herencia Viva. Rescuing Cultural and Ethnobotanical Knowledge”, a project aimed at the population of the Sierra Sur, with special attention to the elderly and school-age children.
The programme seeks to recover and enhance knowledge related to ethnobotanical heritage, while promoting active ageing and intergenerational meetings between the elderly and schoolchildren.
The mayor of Estepa, Antonio Jesús Muñoz, and the councillor for Social Services, Asunción Llamas, accompanied the representatives of the two associations during the delivery of the resolutions. Representing the entities were María Eugenia Jurado, president of AFNEOS, and Francisco Javier Pérez, from Sastipem Thaj Mestapem.
The Estepa City Council has thanked the Diputación de Sevilla for its support of these initiatives and highlighted the work of the local associative fabric. The council has emphasised that the work of entities like AFNEOS and Sastipem Thaj Mestapem contributes to improving care for individuals and strengthening coexistence in Estepa and throughout the Sierra Sur.
The grants will allow both associations to maintain their activities during the year and address specific needs of local residents and the region. The grants have already been resolved, and the entities can access the funds to implement their projects within the deadlines set by the provincial call.
