The City Council of Seville has decided that the Tussam service will be free throughout the day on Tuesday, September 22, coinciding with the global celebration of Car-Free Day. The measure will apply from 00:00 to 23:59 on all bus lines and the Metrocentro tram, except for the special service connecting to the airport.
The free service does not extend to all tickets. Only travellers using ordinary multi-journey tickets, both with and without transfers, will benefit. Single journey tickets, tourist cards, and the aforementioned airport service are excluded, as municipal sources have clarified.
Monthly passes, student cards, and unlimited travel tickets, such as the senior citizen card, will continue to operate normally without any additional procedures. These users already have the discount applicable for their validity period, so they will not need to validate any code or collect any supplement.
"This initiative is designed to particularly recognise the loyalty of those who choose public transport daily and recurrently for their work, study, or personal management journeys," municipal officials state.
The declared objective is twofold: to reward regular users and attract new travellers who have not yet incorporated buses or trams into their routines. This measure is repeated every year and aims to consolidate public transport as a real alternative to private vehicles in the city.
