The route of the southern section of the Seville Metro line 3 will run underground as it passes through Bellavista and Los Bermejales. The Junta de Andalucía has accepted the formal request submitted by the Seville City Council to modify the initial project, thus avoiding the impact that surface traffic could have on these neighbourhoods.
The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has described this change as a decisive advance for the city's infrastructure and mobility after meeting with the Minister of Development and Housing, Mario Muñoz-Atanet. According to the mayor, the municipal request proposed a comprehensive solution through the burial of the route, a request that has been incorporated into the study to protect the boulevards and avenues of both areas.

The final design incorporates urban integration solutions that preserve spaces for community enjoyment. The mayor has highlighted that the joint technical work between the City Council and the Junta de Andalucía confirms that the expansion of the Metro network is a reality.
The various sections of the northern line 3 are already in direct execution phase and maintain their construction schedule, aiming to complete the infrastructure entirely by 2030. As for the fourth section, corresponding to the Ronda Histórica, the bidding process continues its administrative processing with the expected bidding and start of works in 2027.
The southern line 3 project covers 9.3 kilometres in length and 12 stations. The line will start from Prado de San Sebastián and will run underground through Avenida de la Borbolla and Avenida de La Palmera, ensuring direct connection to Ciudad de la Justicia, Palmas Altas, and Hospital de Valme.
With this modification, the residents of Bellavista and Los Bermejales will keep their boulevards and avenues free from surface metro traffic, once the works, whose schedule remains dependent on the administrative development of the remaining sections, are completed.
