The City Council of Seville, through Emvisesa, and the Royal Foundation Housing Board extend their agreement until March 2027 to continue promoting energy rehabilitation and accessibility.
The City Council of Seville, through the municipal housing company Emvisesa, and the Royal Foundation Housing Board have renewed their collaboration agreement that has been in place since March 2024. The extension, valid for one year, prolongs the agreement until March 1, 2027, and maintains the original conditions, without adding new financial obligations for either party.
The aim of this partnership is to continue advancing the improvement of the residential stock in the Andalusian capital, with special attention to the energy rehabilitation of buildings, accessibility, and sustainability. All of this is part of the municipal strategy to facilitate access to decent and efficient housing.
The signing of the extension was attended by the delegate for Urbanism and Environment and president of Emvisesa, Juan de la Rosa, and the vice president of the Royal Foundation Housing Board of Seville, Julio Cuesta. Both highlighted the good rapport between the two institutions over the past two years and their intention to continue working for the interests of the people of Seville.
“Under the government of José Luis Sanz, we are deploying all the tools to respond. From the direct promotion of protected housing to collaboration with entities like the Housing Board, through energy rehabilitation and accessibility programs that improve the existing residential stock,” said Juan de la Rosa.
The president of Emvisesa emphasized that Seville is at the forefront of Spain in the construction of protected housing, second only to Madrid, a fact that, in his opinion, reflects the municipal government's strong commitment to public housing as a tool to ensure access for the people of Seville.
The collaboration between both entities has translated into concrete initiatives that will now continue. These include energy rehabilitation and accessibility programs, as well as other housing-related actions within the municipality of Seville.
This renewal consolidates the cooperation between two institutions that share the goal of promoting more accessible, efficient, and sustainable housing, as well as driving projects that contribute to improving the quality of life for the people of Seville. The extension maintains the conditions established in the original agreement, simply prolonging its validity period to continue developing the planned actions.
The municipal strategy to promote protected housing and rehabilitation also involves other fronts. Emvisesa is promoting more than 2,200 new protected homes and has launched the Habitat Sevilla program, the Sevilla Centro Vivo Plan, and the Advisory Office for Rehabilitation, Accessibility, and Energy Efficiency.
With this extension, the residents of Seville will continue to benefit from improvement actions in their buildings and homes, in a context where rehabilitation and energy efficiency have become key components of the municipal housing policy. The collaboration with the Housing Board thus remains one of the pillars of this strategy, looking ahead to the coming months.
