The City Council of Seville distributes €15,000 in prizes for photography, poetry, and artistic crafts linked to the 5th Centenary of the Wedding of Charles V and Isabel of Portugal. The deadline for submitting works is from 26 September to 25 October.

The City Council of Seville has opened the call for three competitions on the occasion of the 5th Centenary of the Wedding of Charles V and Isabel of Portugal. The rules can already be consulted on the website of the Royal Alcázar of Seville and works will be received between 26 September and 25 October.

The total prize pool amounts to €15,000. The Photography Competition and the Poetry Competition each award a first prize of €3,000 and two mentions of €1,000. The Artistic Crafts Competition 'A Carnation for the Imperial Wedding' grants a single award of €5,000.

The delegate for Finance, Juan Bueno, has stated that the calls aim to involve the public in the anniversary.

"These calls are a way to bring the 5th Centenary closer to all citizens, inviting photographers, poets, and artisans to view with their own eyes an anniversary that is part of Seville's historical identity. With a total prize pool of €15,000, we at the City Council reaffirm our commitment to artistic creation and the cultural projection of the Royal Alcázar."

In photography, an original and unpublished work about Charles V, Isabel of Portugal, their marriage, and the historical, cultural, artistic, and heritage context of the Royal Alcázar is awarded. In poetry, the texts must be original, unpublished, in Spanish, and with a maximum of 50 verses, always linked to the Imperial Wedding and the monumental site.

The crafts competition selects a handmade carnation in disciplines such as goldsmithing, embroidery, jewellery, ceramics, leather, forging, wood carving, painting, or sculpture, among others included in the Andalusia Crafts Register.

Interested individuals can consult the complete rules on the website of the Royal Alcázar of Seville before submitting their proposal. The deadline closes on 25 October.
