Over 200 swimmers will participate this Saturday, September 26, in the IX Solidarity Crossing of the Guadalquivir, organised by the Club Náutico de Sevilla. The proceeds will be allocated to the emergency response for the floods in northern Nepal.
The Club Náutico de Sevilla is finalising preparations for the IX Solidarity Crossing of the Guadalquivir, which will take place this Saturday, September 26 with the participation of more than 200 swimmers of all ages. The event, presented this Tuesday at the Seville City Hall, will allow participants to swim along the river with some of the city's most iconic landmarks as a backdrop.
Among those speaking at the event were the Sports Delegate, María Tena; the manager of the IMD, Ricardo Villena; the president of the Club Náutico Sevilla, Cayetano García; the swimming representative of the entity, Javier Díaz; and the delegate of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in Andalusia, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla, Rafael Carmona Priego.
The start and finish will be located at the dock of the Club Náutico. The programme includes three distances to accommodate different profiles: 3000 metres, 1500 metres, and the more accessible 500 metres.
This event will be the penultimate scoring test of the IV Vicente Ferrer Foundation Solidarity Circuit. The funds raised will support the emergency response that the Vicente Ferrer Foundation is developing alongside local entities following the severe floods that have affected northern Nepal.
"It is a unique opportunity to enjoy Seville from the water," the organisers noted during the presentation.
