The City Council of Seville tenders the last section of resurfacing on Clemente Hidalgo street, with a budget of €427,495 and two and a half months of work.
The City Council of Seville, through the Urban Planning and Environment Management, has put out to tender the resurfacing works on Clemente Hidalgo street, the section adjacent to the Ronda del Tamarguillo, in the San Pablo-Santa Justa district. The project has a budget of €427,495.40 and a planned execution period of two and a half months.
With this intervention, the council considers the complete renewal of the pavement of this road to be finished, having invested a total of €2,217,395.40. The Urban Planning delegate, Juan de la Rosa, stated that “with the tendering of this section, we complete the comprehensive renewal of the Ronda del Tamarguillo, a key axis for the mobility of thousands of Sevillians.”
The affected section currently has concrete slabs, a pavement that has suffered potholes and deterioration for years. The planned solution is the same as that applied in the rest of the roundabout: an intermediate layer of asphalt mix with improved components, capable of absorbing the movements of the slabs due to thermal changes and improving the flexibility of the pavement.
On top, the wearing course will be installed, made with the same type of bitumen, which will reduce noise generated by tyres and even some mechanical noise due to its porosity. The project also includes the removal of architectural barriers that may arise from raising the road level above that of the curbs.
De la Rosa emphasized that “with this action, we fully comply with the commitment we made to the Sevillians to renew the asphalt throughout the city, particularly on such a busy road as the Ronda del Tamarguillo.” Once awarded, the works will directly benefit the residents of the San Pablo-Santa Justa district, who will see improvements in safety and comfort on one of the most used traffic axes in the area.
