Sevilla FC has set the amount for the transfer of youth player Oso at 15 million euros, as he negotiates his exit to Olympiacos under José Luis Mendilibar. The operation has accelerated following the player's self-expulsion in the friendly against Cracovia.
The Sevilla FC has put a price on the departure of its youth player Oso. According to club sources, the Nervión entity has set a minimum amount of 15 million euros to accept his transfer, a figure that has already been communicated to Olympiacos, a team coached by former Sevilla player José Luis Mendilibar.
Negotiations between both parties have intensified in recent hours, after the player self-expelled in the friendly match played last Saturday against KS Cracovia in Poland. This gesture, according to internal sources, has hastened events and convinced the board that the best solution is to part ways.
A departure that benefits everyone
Oso's contract with Sevilla FC expires in 2027, a situation that the club considers to be high risk. Although an extension and salary increase were considered at one point, this has ultimately been ruled out. The sporting management believes that the transfer is the most sensible option for both the player and the entity.
Olympiacos, owned by tycoon Evangelos Marinakis (also owner of Nottingham Forest), has shown firm interest. Mendilibar, who previously managed Sevilla FC in the 2022-2023 season, knows the player well and has requested his signing to strengthen the midfield.
The operation would also allow Sevilla FC to free up wage mass and generate income that could be reinvested in new signings. The club has not yet finalised the arrival of Julio Díaz, another target in the market, and the sale of Oso would facilitate that operation.
Nianzou's departure unlocks registrations
Meanwhile, Sevilla FC has finalised the departure of Tanguy Nianzou to Lille, an operation that has unlocked the registrations of new signings. The French centre-back, who arrived in 2022 from Bayern Munich, has struggled to establish himself in the team, and his departure has been met with relief by the sporting management.
With the sale of Nianzou and the imminent departure of Oso, the club frees up a significant amount of salary and gains capital gains that will allow for future signings with greater flexibility. Coach García Plaza has already been able to field all the reinforcements in the last friendly, although the lack of goals remains a concern.
