The Nervionense team had possession and initiative for much of the match, but struggled to create clear chances. The most notable opportunity in the first half was a double attempt from 'Peque' Fernández and Jon Guridi that was blocked by the Polish defence. Meanwhile, Cracovia, although less incisive, struck from a set piece: an indirect free kick that Hasic converted with a precise left-footed shot into the corner, unstoppable for Odysseas Vlachodimos.
The rain affects the game in the second half
After the break, the rain and wind intensified, turning the pitch into an almost unplayable surface. This hampered the combination play and forced Sevilla FC to resort to direct play. Despite offensive substitutions, the team failed to trouble the local goalkeeper Sebastian Madejski, who had little to do. In the 84th minute, the situation worsened further with the expulsion of Joaquín Martínez 'Oso' for kicking a ball at the assistant, a result of accumulated tension.
Cracovia could have extended their lead, but Alberto Flores made a stunning save and Ibra Sow cleared off the line to keep Sevilla alive. In added time, Jesús Cruz headed a cross from José Ángel Carmona, but the young Jakub Chrapusta deflected the ball providentially, saving the draw.
No injuries, but bad feelings
The positive aspect for Sevilla was that there were no injuries, as confirmed by club sources. However, the defeat leaves a bittersweet taste ahead of the season preparation. Coach Luis García Plaza expressed his anger at the refereeing performance, particularly over an incident where referee Sebastian Krasny obstructed Peque, leading to a local counterattack. The match, held at the Stadion Cracovii, was a demanding test for Sevilla, who will now focus on their upcoming pre-season commitments.
