The exhibition brings together covers of programmes from 1930 to the present and opens just before the festivities, which begin on September 8 with the lighting ceremony.
The Room 92 of the Lebrija Tourism Museum has inaugurated the exhibition “The Fair of Lebrija in Memory”, a visual journey through the history of the patron festivities via 16 programme covers preserved from 1930 to the present day.
The exhibition precedes the Fair and Patron Festivities, which will be held from September 9 to 12, with the official lighting scheduled for Tuesday the 8th. The images have been provided by José María Caro García, who is also the driving force behind the initiative.
Present at the launch were the delegate for Culture, Pepe Martínez, and the delegate for Festivities and Citizen Participation, Alberto Pérez, alongside Caro García himself. The three highlighted the documentary value of materials that allow for the observation of the evolution of this festive event.
The displayed posters range from the regionalist aesthetics of the mid-20th century to contemporary avant-gardes and modern graphic design. Through these styles, one can appreciate the social changes, fashions, the transformation of the festive space, and the priorities of the Lebrijan community over nearly a century.
The exhibition will be open for visitors during the fair days at the museum, located in the heart of Lebrija. It is an opportunity for locals and visitors to closely experience a graphic heritage that is rarely shown to the public.
