The Olivares City Council has unveiled the new edition of its Municipal Magazine, corresponding to May and June 2026. This issue reviews the management of recent months in the municipality, with special attention to infrastructure investments, cultural programming, and employment.
Among the most notable issues is the package of works announced for the coming weeks. The streets Lirio, Geranio, and Aljarafe will receive an investment of €260,000, along with an additional €100,000 for the redevelopment of the streets Miguel Hernández and José María Pemán, with actions on sidewalks, asphalting, accessibility, and safety. A new public parking area is also planned on Al-Andalus street.
The publication dedicates ample space to the balance of the XXIII Baroque Market, which transformed the Historic Ensemble into a cultural stage over four days and attracted thousands of visitors. It also includes the presentation of the Veranazo 2026 program, featuring proposals for culture, sport, leisure, excursions, and music for the summer months.
In the services and community section, the magazine informs about the Educational Mediation Program developed in the CEIP Los Eucaliptos and El Prado, the activities for LGTBI Pride within the Rainbow Territory project, and the opening of the new season of the Municipal Pool. The central interview of this edition features Romualdo, a resident of Olivares who, since 1983, when he was 38 years old, has recorded the day-to-day life of the municipality in his notebooks. At 81 years old, he preserves 291 general notebooks and another 14 dedicated exclusively to rain, with temperatures, times, and events from everyday life.
His personal archive has become a regular resource for numerous families seeking information about their ancestors, and the magazine delves into the importance of preserving and passing on this memory to future generations.
The May and June 2026 edition also recognises the students of IES Heliche for their participation in the World Robot Olympiad and previews the Investment Plan 2026 and other municipal events.
