The Town Hall of Castilleja de la Cuesta will begin asphalting 16 streets and avenues on 28 September, covering an area of 60,000 square metres. The mayor, Carmen Herrera, has finalised details of the first phase with the company, which will continue with funding from the Provincial Council.
Asphalting work will commence in Castilleja de la Cuesta on 28 September. The project covers 16 streets and avenues in the municipality and will involve the renewal of approximately 60,000 square metres of roadway, as reported by the Town Hall.
The mayor, Carmen Herrera, has met with the delegate for Works, Ángeles Rodríguez, the head of the Local Police, Miguel Ángel Hidalgo, and municipal technicians to finalise the last details of the schedule and execution with the responsible party from the awarded company.
The roads included in the project are Avenida Juan Carlos I, Avenida de la Unidad, Avenida Gloria Fuertes, Avenida Plácido Fernández Viagas, Calle Virgen del Rocío, Avenida Antonio Mairena, Calle Camino de la Hijuela de la Gitana, Avenida Reina Mercedes, Calle Clavel, Calle Alfonso Chaves, Calle Rafael Alberti, Calle Luis Cernuda, Calle Camino de San Pablo, Calle Diego Díaz Curciel, Calle Juan Caballero Infante, and Calle Fernando Oliver Tejada.
The intervention will focus on the areas with the most deterioration of the surface. The aim is to improve the condition of the roads and the circulation and road safety conditions for both drivers and pedestrians.
The Town Hall has explained that the work will be carried out progressively to minimise inconvenience. During the construction, there may be temporary traffic restrictions or changes in circulation, which will be communicated in advance to residents.
This is only the first phase of the asphalting plan. The Council is already preparing a second phase, with funds from the Provincial Council of Seville, which will cover a greater number of streets in the municipality.
