The educational leisure programme of the Youth and Childhood Area of La Rinconada bid farewell with a camping trip and a foam party. Over six weeks, 135 children participated in activities tailored to each age group.
The Urban Camp of La Rinconada, promoted by the Youth and Childhood Area, has concluded its summer edition with a day of togetherness that brought together participants and their families. The farewell, held at CEIP La Paz, included an overnight camping experience and a foam party with a cannon, a tradition that has been repeated every summer for years.
During the evening, the children showcased the choreographies they had prepared throughout the programme to their families, before enjoying water games. The activity, which lasted all night, served to wrap up six weeks of workshops, sports, and crafts in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.
In this edition, 135 children attended the camp, a figure that the Youth delegate, Bueno, valued as a reflection of the programme's positive reception. “It is a service that adapts to the needs of families and includes TEA places to ensure inclusion,” she explained during the closing event.
The initiative, framed within education in values through play, has combined playful, sports, creative, and educational activities. Participants worked on teamwork, respect, autonomy, and collaboration through thematic blocks such as Sports Week, The Magic Portal, or EcoCity, among others.
The delegate reminded everyone that the end of the camp does not mean a halt in leisure offerings for the little ones. “In August, the Summer Schools have already started, with new activities to continue supporting the reconciliation of families in La Rinconada,” Bueno pointed out.
The Urban Camp has established itself as a key resource during school holidays for families in the municipality, who see this initiative as an educational and safe alternative for their children. The next edition is scheduled for the summer of 2027.
