The Musical Group Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, from the Hermandad de San Benito in Seville, and the Musical Association Ecijana (Amueci) have been chosen to replace Virgen de los Reyes in the Hermandad de Las Viñas in Jerez starting in 2026.

The Musical Group Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, from the popular Hermandad de San Benito in Seville, and the Musical Association Ecijana (Amueci) have been contracted by the Hermandad de Las Viñas in Jerez to replace the Musical Group Virgen de los Reyes, which has decided to focus its activities in the capital of Seville. The change will take effect from Holy Week 2026.

Two bands for two sections of the route

According to the Jerez brotherhood, the Musical Group Cristo de Gracia, from Córdoba, will accompany the Most Holy Christ of the Exaltation on the outward journey, from the departure until the Cathedral. On the return journey, from the Cathedral to the parish of Nuestra Señora de Las Viñas, it will be the Musical Group Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, from Seville. This group is already familiar with the Jerez Holy Week, as in previous years it played after the mystery of Ecce-Homo in the Hermandad del Mayor Dolor.

For 2027, a change has also been announced in the music accompanying María Santísima de la Concepción. The Musical Association Ecijana (Amueci) will replace the Huelva-based Municipal Band of Bollullos del Condado, which has completed a three-year term with the dolorosa. With this new contract, the Écija group now has two bands in the Jerez Holy Week, as it also accompanies María Santísima del Refugio, from the Hermandad de la Paz de Fátima, on Holy Monday.

The farewell of Virgen de los Reyes after three years

The Musical Group Virgen de los Reyes confirmed the end of its relationship with the Hermandad de Las Viñas through a statement on the social network X. In the text, the Seville group expressed its gratitude:

“In our hearts, we will always remember having been part of one of the most important brotherhoods in Andalusia, the premiere of ‘La Faraona’ at the Teatro Villamarta, the excitement of the bridge, the solemnity of Tornería, the luck of our little ones following the Lord, and the responsibility and fortune of carrying Julia with us from here until the end of days.”
The departure of Virgen de los Reyes is due to a change in its contract policy: the group has decided to focus exclusively on the capital of Seville, leaving behind commitments it had outside of Seville.

The new governing board ends the rumours

The new governing board of the Hermandad de Las Viñas, presided over by Pedro Luis Calvo, has put an end to the speculation that had been circulating in brotherhood circles for weeks. With these agreements, the Jerez brotherhood renews its musical lineup for the coming years, opting for formations of recognized prestige in the Andalusian sphere. For the residents of the province of Seville, this news is a source of pride, as two local bands – one from the capital and another from Écija – will be featured in one of the most prominent brotherhoods of the Jerez Holy Week.

Looking ahead to next year, Seville fans will be able to closely follow the debut of the Musical Group Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación in Jerez, a group that has already demonstrated its quality in the Seville Holy Week. Meanwhile, in Écija, Amueci celebrates its consolidation in the Andalusian brotherhood scene, adding a new contract that strengthens its presence outside the province.
