The 24-year-old midfielder arrives at the verdiblanco team after nine seasons at Deportivo ABANCA. Her contract extends until the summer of 2027.

Real Betis Féminas announced on Thursday the signing of Carlota Sánchez, a 24-year-old midfielder coming from Deportivo ABANCA. The player, who spent nearly a decade at the Coruña club, has signed for one season, until the summer of 2027, with the aim of strengthening the Betis attack and helping the team regain lost status.

Carlota Sánchez arrives in Heliópolis after finishing her contract with Dépor, where she joined at just 15 years old in 2017. She made her debut with the first team in 2018 and established herself from 2020 onwards, actively participating in the two promotions to Primera División achieved by the Galician club, in 2019 and 2024. In the winter market of 2025, she was loaned to Real Oviedo, where she contributed to the promotion to Primera Federación.

The footballer expressed her excitement at her official presentation: “I am very happy to join Real Betis Féminas. It is a club with a lot of history and ambition. I come to give my best to help the team return to the top.”

Betis Féminas faces a crucial season. After nine consecutive years in Liga F, the team was relegated to Segunda Federación in the 2024-25 season, and in the 2025-26 season, they failed to turn things around, falling to the current Segunda Federación. The management has opted for the continuity of Marco Tamarit as coach and has begun a deep reconstruction of the squad.

For the Betis fans, the arrival of Carlota Sánchez represents a boost of quality and experience in a demanding category. The player, who has competed at the highest levels of women's football, brings versatility to the midfield and goal-scoring ability. Her signing is part of a series of moves by the club to build a competitive team that fights for direct promotion.

Real Betis Féminas will begin pre-season in mid-August, and Carlota Sánchez is expected to join training in the coming weeks. The objective, according to club sources, is to “regain enthusiasm and return the team to the elite of women's football.”

The player, originally from A Coruña, leaves behind a nine-year stint at Dépor, where she developed as a footballer and experienced unforgettable moments. “I leave with a grateful heart to Deportivo, but with the excitement of starting this new chapter at Betis,” she declared.
